Dry food better with the VERBA Drowaco

Pigs that receive their dry feed separately from the water put on less bacon. That is the experience of Toon and Erica Vos-van de Langenberg. In fact, single the feed system differs in two houses. One stable has aDrowacoOne stable has a feeding system, which has two eating areas with a well-protected drinking area in between. The other stable has troughs where feed and water come into contact with each other. The fat thickness of pigs raised on the Drowaco is always somewhat lower than that of pigs raised on the flailgate. Other than that, there are hardly any differences in the results. Theoretically, the feed conversion of the pigs eating from the Drowaco should therefore be better. In the current round, a trial is running in which they monitor feed consumption precisely to find out whether this is also the case in practice.
